Generator information: Provide the name and phone number of the person generating the waste or someone who has knowledge about the waste in the event that additional information is needed, as well as the place where the waste was generated.
Quantity: this information is important for our generation records, and will also help us identify waste if a tag should become detached.
Complete chemical composition: It is important that all chemical names are written out and the approximate percentage of each constituent is listed. When determining the composition, also include the amount of water or solvent present. Chemical structures, formulas, abbreviations, or acronyms are not acceptable.
Applicable hazards: While this can be helpful, if you are not sure or do not know, leave this section blank. In the case of mixed waste, make sure that all reactions are complete before checking the pH as this can change over a short period of time. If a compound has a strong stench, we greatly appreciate you writing this on the tag.
Certification: The generator of the waste must sign and date the tag.
Additional information may be found on the back of the tag, or on the back of the Open House Bulletin.
