Chemical and General Laboratory Safety
- MSDS Management
- Chemical/Hazardous Waste Management
- Spill Response – If you have a spill in your lab, whether you clean it up yourself or require assistance from EHS, you will need to submit a Spill or Contamination Followup Report.
- Chemical Exposure – In the event of a chemical exposure, flush skin or eyes for 15 minutes, inform a department manager, and seek medical attention if necessary. If medical attention is necessary, the MSDS should be provided to the medical center staff. An Authorization to Treat form must also be completed and submitted for any lab worker treated at Bloomington Hospital or Promptcare. EHS staff are available to assist or answer questions as needed.
